He wrote to tell me that he has just one a prize in Kirti, an online photography competition held in XLRI as part of ENSEMBLE, the students festival in XLRI.
The email was from a friend of mine I met while he was doing his engineering degree at Calicut. He told me he was working on Steganography, for his engineering project. We had many conversations online and a few times offline too. One day he wrote up a paper based on a chat we had and got a prize for it in the organization he was working with.
One of his passions is photography and the pic above is one of his most recent ones. (You can click on the links below it to see his other works too). He told me he thanked me because my occasional comments on flickr encouraged him to keep going. To meet him, check out his blog (http://www.freebird.in/ )
The online photography contest its own history. A couple of years ago, Sreecharan (I am horrible with names, I hope I got your name right... if anyone knows how to contact him, please let me know) was the ONLY member of our newly formed photography club and we spent days trying to see how we can give it a life of its own. It was then that I first suggested a digital photography competition. Even last year I discussed this matter with the XL Nature Club I was part of. But I didnt know they had actually launched it until my friend contacted me. Nor did I know that my friend had applied for it until he told me he won an award.
WOW!! What a coincidence!! NOW THATS SYNCHRONICITY!!
